What happens next

Four steps, from your first message to members joining.

  1. Tell us about your gym
    Fill in a short form with your gym's name and town. It takes two minutes.
  2. We create your gym
    We set your gym up on Shrimp and email you an invite. We're quick.
  3. Accept the invite
    Create your account from the email, or sign in if you already have one. You'll land in your gym's admin area.
  4. Set up and add members
    Add your plans, timetable and coaches, then bring your members over.

The admin area runs in a web browser on a laptop, desktop or tablet. Members, coaches and parents use Shrimp on their phones.

Setting up your gym

Under an hour in all. Do it in one go, or a bit at a time.

  • Gym profile

    About 5 min

    Your gym's name, location, logo and colour.

  • Membership plans

    About 10 min

    Your prices, how often members pay, and whether you approve new joiners first. A Standard Monthly plan is ready to go: just set its price.

  • Timetable

    15 to 30 min

    Your weekly classes, with age limits. Add them one by one, or fill in the blank spreadsheet and import it.

  • Coaches

    About 10 min

    Send each coach an invite link, then put them on their classes.

Your admin overview flags anything still missing, like a plan with no price, with a button to fix it.

Bringing your members over

Moving from another system? Your members come with you.

Already use GoCardless?

Moving is much quicker.

Your members keep their Direct Debits. We link each one to their new Shrimp membership.

  • No new bank details. Members don't set up a new Direct Debit.
  • Payments carry on as normal while you move.
  • Nothing is guessed. Anything that doesn't match exactly is flagged for you to check.

  • From Club Manager

    Upload your members export under Members → Import. Shrimp sorts adults, children and families, and you review it all before anything is saved.

  • From any other system

    Send us your export or spreadsheet and we'll set up the import for you.

  • New members

    They find your gym in Shrimp, pick a plan and join. If a plan needs approval, they wait for your yes.

Imported members get an email with their own code, only when you choose to send it. They sign up and find their belt, plan and membership already there. More about moving to Shrimp

Questions

Do I need a laptop?
For the admin area, yes. It runs in a web browser on a laptop, desktop or tablet. Members, coaches and parents use their phones.
How do members pay?
By Direct Debit through your own GoCardless account, which they set up when they join. Or in cash, which you record in Shrimp.
Can I choose who joins?
Yes. Set a plan to need approval, and new joiners wait until you approve them.
Does it work for kids' classes?
Yes. Parents add their children, book their classes and follow their progress from one account. Classes can have age limits.
Can coaches use it?
Yes. Invite them with a link. On their phone they see their classes, say when they're free and take the register.
