Terms of Use

The rules for using Shrimp, in plain English.

About these terms

These terms cover your use of Shrimp: the Shrimp app, app.shrimp-app.com and this website. By creating an account or using Shrimp, you agree to them. If you set up or run a gym on Shrimp, you also agree to them for that gym.

"Shrimp", "we" and "us" mean the team that runs Shrimp. You can reach us at support@shrimp-app.com.

Your account

  • Keep your details accurate and your password to yourself.
  • You're responsible for what happens under your account. If you think someone else has used it, tell us straight away.
  • Children don't have their own accounts. A parent or guardian creates and manages a child's profile from their own account.

If you run a gym

  • You're responsible for your gym's details, plans and prices, and for the members, staff and coaches you add or approve.
  • Your agreements with your members, such as memberships, waivers and gym terms, are between you and them. Shrimp provides the tools.
  • Only give admin access to people you trust. They can see and change your gym's information.
  • Shrimp's price for your gym is agreed with you.

Payments

Members pay their gym, not Shrimp. Payments go through our payment providers, such as GoCardless for Direct Debit, on their own secure pages. Shrimp never sees full payment details. If you have a question about a charge, ask your gym first.

Community boards

Each gym has a members-only community board. Before your first post or comment, you agree to these guidelines:

  • Be respectful. No bullying, harassment, hate speech, threats, or abusive language towards anyone.
  • Keep it appropriate. No violent, sexual, or otherwise objectionable content. This is a shared space that includes families and children.
  • Protect privacy. Don't share other people's personal information — especially anything about children.
  • No spam. No repetitive, misleading, or unsolicited promotional content.

There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. Gym staff can remove any post or comment, and repeated or serious abuse can lead to losing access to the community board. You can report any post or comment to gym staff, and block members to hide their content from your feed.

What you post

What you post, log or upload stays yours. You let us store it and show it to the people it's meant for, so Shrimp can work. Don't post anything you don't have the right to share.

Using Shrimp fairly

  • Don't try to get into accounts or gym information that isn't yours.
  • Don't try to break, overload or copy Shrimp, or collect data from it automatically.
  • Don't use Shrimp for anything unlawful.

Changes and availability

We keep improving Shrimp, so features may change. We work hard to keep it running, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of mistakes.

If we make an important change to these terms, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.

Leaving Shrimp

You can stop using Shrimp at any time. To delete your account, go to Settings, then Privacy & data, then Request account deletion in the app, or email us. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.

Responsibility

Training is between you and your gym: Shrimp isn't responsible for what happens in classes or at the gym. We're not liable for indirect losses, such as lost profits, that come from using Shrimp.

Nothing in these terms limits anything the law doesn't allow us to limit, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

The law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
